Fans of Philly Cheesesteaks & grinders rejoice!
Downtown Olympia's new Clubside Cafe is serving up mighty lunches
and tasty dinners in a welcoming atmosphere.
Proprietor Kenny Trobman presents a expansive and creative menu
featuring an East-coast flair blended with traditional local favorites.

Weekend brunches feature a smoked Salmon omelette,
Belgium waffles, Frittatas, and several styles of eggs benedict
- all with homemade hollandaise sauce.
Located in the former Proffit's Cafe location on
4th ave., Clubside offers late-night grub at the neighboring watering
hole, Eastside Club through a pass-through window plus delivery
service to some local bars
Hoagies are served fresh and crisp with styles ranging
from the Super Italian with 6 different meats, 3 cheeses and zesty
peppers, to the Summertime Smoked Salmon topped with strawberries
and chives.
The toasty grinders are served up hot and well-laden with layers
of meats, cheeses and savory sauces or check out the belly busting
meatball grinder for the full experience.
With an expansive new menu and fresh "hot-rod"
decor, downtown Olympia's Clubside Cafe opened for business in
mid-October 2003, the work of entrepreneur Kenny Trobman and family.
When asked about the menu, twenty-something Kenny
explains, "Clubside is an American diner and I wanted to
offer something beyond the traditional Northwest cafe choices,
adding a real East coast flavor." Indeed, house specialties
such as the Philly cheese steak sandwich, are already gaining
a following - as are the 1/3 lb. burgers stuffed with jalapenos
or blue cheese and bacon.
Kenny also points out that, "There are no microwaves
in my kitchen!" Plus you'll find few mixes or cans as all
dishes and sauces are handmade. In an effort to support local
business and obtain the freshest ingredients possible, Clubside
offers local products including Dick's NW sausage.
